A Dragonair plane carrying almost 300 passengers collided with a service van at Hong Kong International Airport yesterday , trapping the driver inside the vehicle with head and shoulder injuries. Dragonair Flight KA691 was heading to the Hong Kong airport runway for takeoff at around 4 p.m. local time Thursday when it collided with a China Aircraft Service vehicle.
Police on the scene revealed that the driver of the vehicle was temporarily trapped inside with head and shoulder injuries, but was rescued and transported to the North Lantau Hospital where he was undergoing treatment.
Surveillance footage allegedly shows the vehicle driving directly toward the plane before making a sharp turn at the last moment and crashing into the aircraft’s engine.
