Five suspected cannibals in South African court


Five South African men charged over suspected cannibalism appeared briefly in court on Monday as scores of angry protesters gathered outside, police said.
The men from the rural town of Escourt, in KwaZulu-Natal province, were arrested over a week ago after one handed himself in to a police station, telling officers he was “tired of eating human flesh”. His confession led to the arrest of his four co-accused.

The Myanmar army killed between 2000 and 3000 Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine in the last three days, Anita Schug, a spokeswoman for the European Rohingya Council (ERC) said on Monday. More than 100000 civilians have been displaced, Schug added. She also said that 2000 Rakhine Muslims were trapped at the Myanmar-Bangladesh border, and that the Bangladesh-side of the border was sealed by the government.

Kuwaitis unharmed in Hong Kong, Macau after 2nd typhoon


Kuwait’s General Consulate in Hong Kong said all Kuwaitis were unharmed in the second typhoon 8 signal that struck areas in Hong Kong and Macau yesterday.
