Etihad flight diverted after technical fault warning on board


An Etihad Airways flight travelling from Abu Dhabi to Sydney made a safe landing at Australia’s Adelaide Airport early on Saturday after a warning indicator activated in the cockpit. The Boeing 777 passenger jet had 349 passengers on board who disembarked via emergency exits. Passengers would make their onward journeys via other airlines due to crew rest requirements, the airline said.


Emirates flight diverted to Kuwait after passenger dies


An Emirates flight from Dubai to Munich was recently diverted after a medical emergency on board, The flight EK049 had to be diverted to Kuwait.
The passenger received immediate medical attention upon landing but unfortunately was pronounced dead by an emergency doctor on the ground. The flight continued its journey to Munich where it landed approximately 2.5hrs behind schedule.

Cebu Pacific Start Offering Cheap Flights To Philippines


#UAE: A promotion by Cebu Pacific shows the cost for a flight from Dubai to Manila at as low as Dh196 – for an all-in fare. The all-in fare is inclusive of base fare, applicable fees and taxes, web admin fee and 7kg hand carry baggage allowance.
The sale period of the promotion is from October 7 to 9. In order to avail of the discounted rates, passengers must be travelling within the period from January 1 to June 30, 2018, Cebu Pacific is also offering flights from Dubai to Osaka, Japan for only Dh859.
Tickets from Dubai to Osaka can be purchased from October 1-7, 2017 (today is your last day) for flights from November 1-March 31, 2018.


UAE residents to pay double for tobacco, energy and fizzy drinks


#UAE: From today, residents across the country with a love for sugary drinks and cigarettes will be feeling the pinch, as the UAE’s excise tax comes into effect. Commonly referred to as a “sin” tax, it now means residents will be paying double the price for tobacco products and caffeinated drinks, while sugary drinks will increase by 50%.
Depending on the brand, a pack of 20 cigarettes will now set smokers back about Dh22, while high-in-sugar soft drinks will cost upwards of Dh2.25.

Emirates denies one of its planes has been targeted with a bomb


#UAE: A spokesman for Emirates Airlines said that the national carrier has strongly denied reports that one of its planes had been targeted for bombing on Monday.
Lebanese Interior Minister Nuhad al-Mashnouk revealed the involvement of four Lebanese in an attempt to blow up an American passenger plane on its way from Australia to Abu Dhabi.
Mashnouk said in a press conference on Monday that the thwarted attack was coordinated by the Information Division of the Department of Homeland Security and Australian authorities.

KSA, UAE, Bahrain, Egypt provide air corridors for Qatari airlines


Civil aviation authorities in Saudi Arabia, #UAE, #Bahrain and #Egypt provided nine emergency air corridors to be used by #Qatar airlines as of August 1, the #Saudi Arabia’s Civil Aviation Authority announced Sunday. This measure, it added was under the umbrella of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and in compliance with Saudi Arabia’s cutting of diplomatic and consular relations with Qatar.
